Edge Cling to Win Over Fog

This one came down to the wire and a piece of iron.

What a basketball game.

Nova Scotia’s Windsor Edge put together a solid effort and held on for a dramatic 71-68 win over Port City Fog of Saint John in Maritime Women’s Basketball Association play Saturday in Fredericton.

Port City’s Kaylee Kilpatrick’s attempt to tie at the buzzer hit iron and out allowing the Edge to hold on.

Karissa Kajorinne erupted for 36 points to lead Windsor. She had 24 in the first half. Tiffany Reynolds knocked down 21 and Jessica Millet had 12.

Rachel Farwell, a key player for USPORTS champion Ryerson University Rams, popped 17 for Port City. Courtney Thompson, a former Atlantic University Sport leading scorer for Dalhousie University Tigers had 13. Reese Baxendale, who starred at University of Prince Edward Island Panthers, also had 13.
