It’s Friday night and you need some trivia.
Name the only Maritime Women’s Basketball Association team that has never lost a regular season game.
If you picked Halifax Thunder, move to the head of the class.
Thunder, which went 10-0 last season in the regular season, moved to 5-0 this year following a come-from-behind 75-68 win over city rival Halifax Hornets in the league’s Medavie Game of the Week.
The host Hornets, last year’s champions, fell to 1-4.
Down 23-11 after the opening quarter, the offensive alarm went off for the Thunder, powered by a balanced scoring attack to turn aside the Hornets’ buzz.
Karla Yepez dropped 16 points to lead the way for the winners. Vanessa Pickard scored 11, Keira Duffie and Tiffany Reynolds had 10 each. Grace Wade and Karissa Kajorinne both popped nine.
Courtney Donaldson had a dozen for the Hornets. Jasmine Parent scored 10.
Thunder will try and keep the momentum going Saturday when it visits Windsor Edge in a 1 p.m. clash at Avon View High School.
Windsor faces the Hornets in Halifax on Sunday at 4 p.m. to cap a busy weekend.
