A new podcast based in New Brunswick features a very familiar voice to the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association.
Bill Gibson, the voice of the MWBA’s Fredericton Freeze and Saint John’s Port City Fog, launched Late Scratches, a podcast that made its debut in early September.
Late Scratches was designed to fill a void with the disappearing voices of local sports coverage.
The podcast can be found on most of your favourite applications.
The MWBA has received a number of mentions in the early going of Late Scratches including a recap of the 2023 season, news from the league on three players signing professional contracts and more.
Gibson provided all play-by-play of Legacy Cup championship weekend with Maritime Athletic Profiles.
He can found during the winter months calling basketball and volleyball games for St. Thomas University Tommies and working spot duty for the Maritime Hockey League’s Fredericton Red Wings.
