There are two games left in the first half of the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association’s women’s basketball conference before academics and the Christmas break kick in.
One game is set for Friday, Dec. 5, in Charlottetown when the Holland College Hurricanes host Moncton’s Crandall University Chargers at 6 p.m. The lone game Saturday, Dec. 6, is in Fredericton at 2 p.m., when host St. Thomas University Tommies welcome Highway No. 7 rival University of New Brunswick at Saint John Seawolves.
The Mount St. Vincent University Mystics of Halifax lead the seven-team derby with an unblemished 7-0 record. St. Thomas sits second at 5-1 and Holland College’s 4-2 mark has it third. Sackville’s Mount Allison University Mounties are fourth at 3-3 and Crandall is fifth with a 2-4 mark. UNBSJ is 1-5 for sixth and University of King’s College Blue Devils of Halifax are winless in seven trips.
There are plenty of Maritime Women’s Basketball Association players in the ACAA.
