CHCO-TV has been an ardent supporter of the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association since its inception in 2022.
That hasn’t changed.
Joe Ticotsky and Evan McFarlane, co-hosts of CHCO-TV in New Brunswick’s Charlotte County, have featured the MWBA a number of times on its channel and have hosted players from the Fredericton Freeze and Saint John’s Port City Fog to various basketball-related events in picturesque St. Andrews.
Ticotsky’s latest MWBA feature was an interview with league commissioner, Jen Lloyd of Dartmouth, NS.
The episode will run Friday, April 24, at 8 p.m. on CHCO-TV which also has a livestream available at www.chco.tv
The show will be available for viewing through May 28 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday at 11 p.m.
‘It’s always a pleasure to talk about the MWBA, our eight teams and what is happening as we prepare for our fifth season of competition,’ said Lloyd. ‘CHCO-TV has been so good to chat with over the years. We appreciate what it does for the community and sporting community, inparticular.’
CHCO-TV also televised the Battle at the Border in 2023 with the four New Brunswick-based teams, who play a two-day tournament at St. Stephen High School in front of large crowds.
The Moncton Mystics won that tournament, defeating Fredericton in the final. Port City and Miramichi also competed.
The four teams were also feted with a social evening the Garcelon Centre and toured the World’s Oldest Basketball Court.
