The Maritime Women’s Basketball Association is in the midst of a busy off-season.
Just over a month following the completion of its fifth anniversary campaign, the league has met as a group and through individual team sessions with an eye on 2027.
Through all the teams, players, coaches, officials and dynamic MWBA partners, there is one remarkable group the league would love to hear from.
You, the fans.
For the first time in its history, the MWBA is opening up the communication lines in a social media format to receive feedback from those who support us purchasing tickets and attending our games.
This isn’t a pat on the shoulder type of campaign.
‘We hear about so many great stories across the MWBA, but now is an opportunity to receive feedback from our supporters who can let us know their thoughts on maybe what we can do better, where can we improve or discuss rules and regulations,’ said MWBA secretary and Director of Partnerships and Programs, Anna Lee LeBlanc of Moncton. ‘Essentially whatever is on your mind. We hear from fans from time-to-time through gymnasium conversations, but this is a chance to let us know your likes, dislikes and anything in between. It’s important we listen to our supporters on any subjects within the MWBA.’
The process is simple.
Log on to this website and see the submission button on the home page.
Send your questions or comments through email and the MWBA will respond in a timely manner and present to its team members during off-season reviews.
‘We have had five remarkable seasons and created a tremendous showcase of women in sport, but we also know we have stubbed our toes along the way at periods,’ said LeBlanc. .That’s part of the maturation process and growth. Feedback can be used in many different ways. We look forward to hearing from our fans, our supporters and our partners. We wouldn’t be surprised if hear player feedback, too, which would be outstanding.’
The question opportunities is open-ended date wise.
The MWBA will hold its Annual General Meeting in late October, so you have until early fall.
The league will return its eight teams for 2027 including Nova Scotia Division’s Halifax Thunder, Halifax Hornets, Truro Tidal Queens and Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour/Preston. The New Brunswick Division features Port City Fog of Saint John, Moncton Mystics, Miramichi HerIcanes and Fredericton Freeze.
Thunder enters 2027 as reigning PROLINE Legacy Cup champions.
