It’s a perfect 6-0 season to this point for the Halifax Thunder.
Thunder remained undefeated in the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association after downing Moncton Mystics, 91-45 in Sunday’s final game of a busy weekend at Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax.
All six teams were in attendance with three games each day.
Teams will now play within their own province until June 11 to 12 when all six clubs report to Moncton’s Harrison Trimble High School for the next tournament-styled led.
On Sunday, the Thunder built an early lead and never looked back to tame the Mystics.
Grace Wade knocked down 14 points including a trio of treys to lead Halifax past her hometown team. Wade, the former University of New Brunswick Reds’ guard, is now living and working in Halifax. Ellen Hatt and Vanessa Pickard both scored 11.
Maddy Daley’s nine points paced the Mystics. Kelsey McLaughlin had eight.
