The pre-season continues Saturday, April 29, in the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association.
Hometown Moncton Mystics will welcome Fredericton Freeze to town in a matinee outing.
Game time is 1 p.m. at Harrison Trimble High School,
Last year, the Mystics hosted Fredericton in the league’s first-ever pre-season game and it produced a sellout, setting the stage for solid crowds across the six-team league.
The Freeze enters the game with a 1-0 pre-season record following a 76-59 win over Saint John’s Port City Fog last weekend in Miramichi.
Katie Butts and Kylee Speedy both had 18 points for the Freeze in the win.
The regular season opens Saturday, May 6, on two fronts.
Fredericton will visit Port City in a 7 p.m. contest and the teams will face each other game May 7 in a 1 p.m. outing at Fredericton High School.
One other May 7 game has reigning champion Halifax Hornets in Windsor to play the Edge. A venue and time will be confirmed for that game.
