The Fredericton Freeze saw everyone in its lineup score and used some long distance shooting early to subdue the Windsor Edge, 86-57 in Maritime Women’s Basketball Association play Saturday in Halifax.
Windsor pushed the Freeze early, but Fredericton heated up beyond the arc, using 22 points from Allie McCarthy to lead the way offensively.
Fredericton improved to 5-2 and is tied for second spot with Saint John’s Port City Fog. Windsor fell to 0-7.
Kylee Speedy knocked down 18 for the Freeze including a quartet of three balls. Katie McAffee scored a dozen.
Isa MacKay had 19 for Windsor. Tyler Malloy, Sydney Foran and Ithandi Munro all meshed eight.
Freeze plays Halifax Hornets Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Edge meets Moncton Mystics at 1 p.m.
