And then there were four.
Four teams remain in pursuit of the Pro*Line Summit Legacy Cup championship this weekend as the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association prepares to crown a champion.
Who will it be?
Undefeated and reigning champion Halifax Thunder? Second place Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour? How about the Fredericton Freeze, winners of three straight games entering the post-season? Or Port City Fog of Saint John which produced a major come-from-behind playoff win to get to the Pro*Line Stadium dance?
Plenty of questions, but that’s always a good thing entering a final weekend.
All games will be played at Dalhousie University – the DALPlex – on Saturday and Sunday.
The first semifinal puts the Thunder against Port City at 5:30 p.m.
The second semifinal features Lake City against the Freeze at 7:30 p.m.
Winners will meet in Sunday in the 2:30 p.m. championship. The third place game goes at 12:30 p.m.
The DALPlex will be busy with future MWBA players as well with Basketball Nova Scotia and Basketball New Brunswick under-15 and under-17 teams meeting at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. leading into the Thunder-Fog outing.
Tickets for Pro*Line Stadium Legacy Cup are available at the door and cash only. They are $20 for a game day pass (two games) or $30 for a weekend pass (four games).
