Four years ago, six teams gathered in Fredericton to launch the MWBA.
Maddy Greatorex of the Moncton Mystics scored the first bucket in MWBA history that weekend and now, four years later, there are seven teams and numerous stories continuing to churn.
This evening the Mystics will be at home, playing at Crandall University, facing the Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour.
Game time is 6 p.m.
That sets the stage for a busy Sunday with a trio of games on tap.
It kicks off at 1 p.m. when Fredericton Freeze hosts Port City Fog of Saint John at Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium.
And hour later, Lake City continues its road trip, visiting Miramichi Her-Icanes at Miramichi Valley High School.
The opening weekend ends at 5 p.m. at Saint Mary’s University where host Halifax Thunder greets Halifax Hornets.
