The Fredericton Freeze found itself down early in its Maritime Women’s Basketball Association season opener.
Things turned for the hosts the rest of the way, with Fredericton posting a 64-53 victory over the visiting Port City Fog of Saint John.
A solid crowd of 348 took in the contest at the Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium.
Bailey Russell sparked Fredericton’s offence with a game-high 15 points. Allie McCarthy dropped 14 and Katie Daley scored 13.
Erin Ingalls and Jillian Mumford both had 14 for the Fog.
