Freeze Earn Road Win

The Fredericton Freeze snapped a two-game losing side in solid fashion Saturday night.

The Freeze, trounced 102-76 the night before to Miramichi Her-Icanes, shrugged that off with a convincing 78-43 Maritime Women’s Basketball Association win over the hometown Moncton Mystics in front of a large crowd at Crandall University.

Fredericton moved to 2-2 and Moncton fell to 0-3.

The Freeze held a 46-23 halftime lead.

Bailey Russell powered Fredericton with 20 points. Eva Tumwine knocked down 16 and Katie Daley and Allie McCarthy both had 11.

Sadie Bowen paced Moncton with 16 points.

There are two games Sunday including Port City Fog leaving Saint John to face Miramichi at 2 p.m.

The Halifax Hornets travel across the bridge to meet Lake City 56ers in Cole Harbour at 3 p.m.
