We are continuing our off-season look at our seven Maritime Women’s Basketball Association teams when it comes to all-time leading point-getters.
Thanks to the work of Nova Scotia broadcaster, Allan April, we are able to showcase former and present-day players and the impact they had on their teams and the MWBA.
With the Mystics, it’s still Jenna Jones who leads the way as Moncton’s all-time leading point producer.
Jones played three seasons with the Mystics, competing in 28 games.
The sharpshooter amassed 318 career points in Moncton colours. She remains No. 10 in all-time league scoring.
Leo Elbert, the flashy point guard who spent two seasons with the Mystics, is second in Moncton scoring with 278 points. Elbert’s 17.3 points per game tops Moncton numbers.
Kelsey McLaughlin sits third with 236 points, one more than Ali Berry’s 235.
Abby Miller played two seasons in Moncton before moving to Miramichi Her-Icanes, but made her mark in the Hub City, fifth overall with 168 points. Kelly Vass is sixth with 166 points and Celine Sterckel is next with 143. Lea St. Pierre’s 141 points are good enough for eighth spot and Lindy Alcorn, who put together a remarkable 2025 season, is ninth with 128 points. Alcorn played in the MWBA’s inaugural 2022 season before taking two years off, returning this year as a valuable veteran with a young Moncton entrant.
Emily Briggs sits 10th with 113 points. Briggs is a member of the coaching staff with Basketball New Brunswick’s under-17 girls, off to St. John’s, NL, next month for Canada Summer Games.
