How the league is run

The MWBA was set up, and will always be run, only for not-for-profit purposes. The league office sets the schedule and runs the league, its officiating and its partnerships. Each of the eight franchises functions independently: tryouts, rosters, coaching staff and team sponsors are run by the teams themselves.

The league’s 2026 annual general meeting was set for Tuesday, Oct. 27, with all teams represented along with the league executive staff, including Commissioner Jen McKenzie of Dartmouth, NS. All eight teams have confirmed they will return for Year VI in 2027.

Still have a question?

General and franchise inquiries go to the league office. Partnership inquiries go to Anna Lee LeBlanc, Director of Brand and Partnerships.
