Halifax Hornets received double digit points from five different players and collected a 92-72 Maritime Women’s Basketball Association win over the Port City Fog of Saint John.
The game capped a three-game day at Harrison Trimble High School for the MWBA.
There are three games slated for Sunday including outings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Hornets moved their record to 6-1 and solidified second place in the league with a dozen points, trailing the undefeated Halifax Thunder’s 8-0 mark.
Jalynn Skier powered the Hornets’ balanced with a 16-point outing. Chanel Smith and Alain McMillan had 15 each. Lucina Beaumont had a dozen and Jasmine Parent 10. Katherine Follis clicked for nine.
Rachel Farwell erupted for 28 points to pace Port City. Farwell drained seven-threes, showing why she is a top scorer in Ontario University Athletics with Toronto Metropolitan University. Sixteen of her points came in the second half. Kaylee Kilpatrick scored 11 and Reese Baxendale knocked down 10.
