Tiffany Reynolds is lighting things up in Nicaragua.
The Maritime Women’s Basketball Association star is with Tipitapa in Nicaragua and enjoying her first professional season.
Reynolds played with the MWBA Legacy Cup champion Halifax Thunder last season. She averaged 11.4 points per game with Halifax and signed her first professional contract with Tipitapi following the Thunder’s season.
The Ontario product is one of three MWBA players earning a living in the professional ranks. Thunder teammate Karissa Kajorinne is in her second season with Olivais in Portugal and Sophia Widmeyer of Halifax Hornets is with Dublin Lions in Ireland.
Reynolds and Tipitapi sit atop the five-team league with a 12-4 record entering weekend play.
The power forward is averaging 18.1 points per game and bringing down 8.8 rebounds a game. She also averages 4.5 steals per outing entering play this weekend.
Last time out on Oct. 12, Reynolds had 18 points and nine rebounds in a 67-49 win over Leonas.
