Fredericton Freeze as advanced to the Battle at the Border final.
The Freeze knocked back the Miramichi Her-icanes, 71-56 Saturday night to advance to the final for the World’s Oldest Basketball Court Cup in St. Stephen.
Fredericton will face Moncton Mystics in the final Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
Miramichi will face Saint John’s Port City Fog at 11:30 a.m. in the consolation game at the event, presented by McDonald’s.
Amanda Russell drilled 21 points to spark Fredericton. Katie Daley had 20 and Katie Butts tallied 17.
Freeze held a 30-20 halftime lead.
Lauren Rainford paced all scorers with 24 points for the ‘Canes. Devon Lawson scored seven and Bailey Black had six.
