Since the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association launched in 2022, all of its games have been livestreamed.
That’s from pre-season to Legacy Cup championship weekend.
The tradition will continue in 2024 when the MWBA kicks off its third season of action with five games this weekend.
The majority of games in New Brunswick are produced by Aurora Productions (auroraproductions.ca) and Nova Scotia games are covered by Maritime Athletic Profiles (maritimeathleticprofiles.com).
Games can be found on MWBA’s YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/@maritimewomensbasketballas7914
The first game of 2024 unfolds at Cole Harbour High School in Nova Scotia on Saturday at 3 p.m. when hometown Lake City 56ers entertain defending champion Halifax Thunder.
At 6 p.m., Fredericton Freeze face Moncton Mystics at the Richard J. Currie Center Performance Gymnasium.
An hour later at 7 p.m., in Saint John, Port City Fog welcome Miramichi Her-icanes to TD Station.
It will be Miramichi’s first-ever regular season game in the MWBA.
The Her-icanes face Fredericton at Miramichi Valley High School on Sunday at 3 p.m.
At the same time, Lake City is at Mount St. Vincent University to face the Halifax Hornets.
