Fredericton Freeze will be unable to host the league’s Final Quartet. Facilities at the University of New Brunswick are booked for most of June. The Freeze plays its home games at UNB’s Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium.
Port City Fog of Saint John hosted the 2023 Legacy Cup and drew an MWBA record crowd 1,209 to TD Station as the host team fell in the final to Halifax Thunder in a memorable championship game that went down to the last minute.
Moncton Mystics are an original six MWBA franchise and Miramichi Hericanes are the other two NB-based teams.
The league alternates provinces for its final show of the season.
Thunder hosted the league’s inaugural final in 2022 at Saint Mary’s Universities.
A 2025 draft schedule is expected to be released to teams within the next week.
