The off-season continues to churn for the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association.
League teams are anticipating a first look at the 2025 draft schedule that will begin Season IV in May.
Numbers will change when next season is over, but we’re going to have a look at the all-team leading scorers for each MWBA team following this past season.
Please note, several players have played for multiple teams since the league launched in 2023. To be eligible for all-time team scoring, players must have played at least 10 games or more with with one team.
Carry over points are not included on this list if a player scored X points in two seasons for one team and X points for a second or third team. Players must have played at least 10 games for their team to qualify.
Let’s start with the two-time reigning champion Halifax Thunder.
Haley McDonald leads with 189 points followed by Karla Yepez and her 175 points. Kiera Duffie is next with 170 points followed by Justine Colley-Leger (156) and Grace Wade (130).
Halifax Hornets leader is Jasmine Parent at 274 points. Hannah Brown’s 196 is second and Alisha MacNeil third at 152. Jayla Verney’s 111 have her fourth and Eva Widmeyer fifth with 109.
Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour, who played two seasons as the Windsor Edge, have Karissa Kajorinne as its top scorer. She amassed 246 points in one season with Windsor. Kajorinne, who also played for the Thunder, is the MWBA’s all-time leading scorer with 400 points. Elizabeth Iseyemi is second with 174 and Emily MacNeil has 118. Tiffany Reynolds scored 117 points in Edge colours the league’s inaugural season. Isa MacKay scored 94.
Moncton Mystics’ all-time leader is Jenna Jones, who has scored 318 points. Leo Elbert sits second with 278 and Kelsey McLaughlin’s 236 points have her third. Allie Berry is fourth with 235 and Kelly Vass fifth with 166.
Kaylee Kilpatrick is second all-time in league scoring with 396 points and with that total, also leads all Port City Fog of Saint John players. Rachel Farwell is second with 266 and Courtney Thompson third with 239. Reese Baxendale amassed 194 points and rounding out the top five is Bailey Henderson and her 119 points. Henderson played last season with the expansion Miramichi Hericanes.
Lauren Rainford leads all Hericanes with 235 points in one season, part of her MVP laurels, Abby Miller, who played two seasons in Moncton, is second with 82 points and Devon Lawlor third with 72. Aiden Rainford (63) and Bailey Black (57) round out the top five. Black spent a season with Port City and one with Fredericton Freeze.
Fredericton’s all-time leader is Allie McCarthy, posting 243 points. Eva Tumwine is second with 210 and Katie McAffee third with 200. Katie Butts’ 197 points have her fourth and Robbi Daley sits fifth with 180.
Kajorinee (400), Kilpatrick (39) Jones (318), Courtney Donaldson (296 with Hornets and 56ers in 18 games), Elbert (278), Parent (274), Farwell (266), Miller (250, Miramichi and Moncton), McCarthy (243) and Thompson (239) round out the league’s all-time Top 10 scorers.
