Two Showdowns on Tonight

There’s still work to be done.

And the hardhats come on today for the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association as the seven-team league enters the stretch run, the regular seaon ending Sunday.

There are two games for Saturday, both 7 p.m. starts.

Fredericton Freeze meets Port City Fog at the University of New Brunswick at Saint John while at the same time, Halifax Thunder entertains Miramichi Her-Icanes.

Fredericton will look to even its season mark at 5-5 while the Fog enters at 1-7.

Miramichi arrvives in Halifax at 7-1 and Thunder is 5-3.

The league’s fourth season will wrap up its regular campaign with three games Sunday.

Lake City 56ers (8-1) visit Halifax Hornets (3-6) at 2 p.m. at Mount St. Vincent University. An hour later, Miramichi visits Port City and at 4 p.m., Moncton Mystics (2-7) face Thunder (5-3) at Dalhousie University.

Once the weekend is over, final standings will put into motion the playoff system for both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
