Halifax joins Nova Scotia and regular season champion Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour in Fredericton followed an 82-52 win over city rival Halifax Hornets on Friday night.
The Nova Scotia teams will wait New Brunswick representatives for the league title run.
The Picture Province opens its sudden-death games Saturday when Miramichi Her-icanes host Port City Fog of Saint John at 6 p.m. at Miramichi Valley High School.
The other NB set has host Fredericton Freeze facing Moncton Mystics on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Fredericton High School.
At Halifax on Friday, the Thunder exploded out of the gates and never looked back, taming the Hornets. Thunder held a 28-6 lead after a quarter to put the game on ice.
Alexis Evans powered the Thunder with a 20-point effort. Sami Russell popped 18 and Alaina McMillan had 15.
Samantha Manieri and Katelyn Power both had eight points for Hornets.
