Freeze Seeks Stream Partner

Viewership is up.

And with the Fredericton TRL Solutions Freeze celebrating its fifth anniversary along with the rest of the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association in 2026, the organization is seeking a partner to host livestreaming home games for the Capital City squad.

The MWBA PRO•LINE Legacy Cup championship weekend – hosted last June by the Freeze – drew over 3,600 spectators on-line through Fredericton-based production company, Aurora Productions. Solid crowds also watched the Final Quartet at the Richard J. Currie Center.

‘The numbers we had for championship weekend and even our own home games during the regular season showed steady increase which means plenty of eyes are watching our product,’ said Bram Russell, the Freeze manager of basketball operations. ‘We know the production quality through Aurora and across the league with other services and they’re only getting better. The league is providing a quality product. We love seeing people in the stands at home games, but it’s always nice to have the streams available.’

With that in mind, the Freeze is seeking a community partner as its livestreaming presenter.

That entails corporate branding, all games brought to you by the presenting company, in-hose signage, social media and game day mentions.

The financial commitment will ensure coverage of five Freeze home games for the 2026 season.

It will also feature at least one MWBA Game of the Week presentation.

All games for the MWBA are available on its YouTube channel.

‘We have a unique opportunity to work with our local production company to help contour a potential presenting partner,’ said Russell. ‘The Freeze has done very well in the community and we want to continue that relationship.’
