Windsor Edge fell behind 21-16 after a quarter of play to the Moncton Mystics.

From that point on, Windsor came together, coming back to post a 68-59 win over Moncton in the opening game of the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association tournament-style weekend.

The event continues Saturday and Sunday at Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax.

The Edge evened its ledger to 2-2 on the season. Moncton dropped to 0-4.

Windsor would come back in the second quarter to carry a 39-27 lead into halftime and upped the ante to 56-41 entering the final frame.

Karla Yepez scored 17 points for Windsor in a game where she played against her former University of Prince Edward Island Panthers’ head coach Greg Gould, who guides the Mystics. Tiffany Reynolds scored 16 and Karissa Kajorinne had a dozen.

A 12-point afternoon for Jenna Jones sparked Moncton. Maddy Daley had 10 and Kelly Vass added nine.
