From her first game to her last, Karissa Kajorinne had a special year.

Just like the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association, in fact.

Kajorinne, an Ontario product, has signed a professional deal after the MWBA wrapped its first season back in June.

Playing with the Windsor Edge, Kajorinne paced the league in scoring. She scored 246 regular season points, averaging 24.6 per outing over 10 games.

The Edge player has signed with Portugal’s Olivais in Liga Feminina, the top women’s league in the country.

Kajorinne played five seasons at the Ontario University Sport level, four years with Algoma University Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie and one with her hometown Lakehead University Thunderwolves in Thunder Bay.
