Two teams with identical 1-1 records entering Saturday clashed in Cole Harbour, meaning something had to give.

When the final horn sounded, it was Lake City 56ers moving to 2-1 with an 81-52 win over visiting Miramichi Her-Icanes in matinee Maritime Women’s Basketball Association play at Cole Harbour High School.

Reigning Performer of the Week by Royale winner Elizabeth Iseyemi paced Lake City with 27 points. Courtney Donaldson offered 25 and Andrea Wright pocketed 11.

Lauren Rainford produced 20 points for Miramichi. Bailey Black scored eight.

The 56ers held a 43-28 halftime lead.

The Her-Icanes continue their Nova Scotia swing, facing Halifax Thunder (2-0) Sunday at 3 p.m.
