Two players from the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association are continuing down the playoff road in their respective leagues from Quebec to New England.

Emily McNeil is with the Bishop’s University Gaiters of Lennoxville, QU.

The Gaiters are involved in Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec playoffs and were in action Wednesday in quarter-final play against McGill University Martlets of Montreal.

McNeil appeared in 11 games with the Gaiters this season, averaging 9.3 minutes per out. A member of the reigning MWBA champion Halifax Thunder, McNeil averaged 3.0 points per game last season for Halifax and has 118 career MWBA points.

Bishop’s earned a 63-59 win over McGill and advances to its third straight RSEQ championship game Saturday against Universite de Laval Rouge et Or. The Gaiters will seek their first crown since 2004.

Meanwhile, the Little East Conference is down to semifinal play and the University of Southern Maine Huskies of Portland are ready for a Thursday battle against Rhode Island College Anchorwomen of Providence.

The Huskies defeated University of Massachusetts at Boston Beacons, 59-49 in quarter-final play, outscoring their foes 29-11 in the fourth quarter.
