One team remains undefeated, two teams seek their first wins and three other squads find themselves in a logjam for second spot.

It’s the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association and all indications show once again, it’s going to be battle at both ends of the standings’ spectrum.

Action picks up again Saturday with three games and one more on Sunday as a number of players who battle in the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association will be wearing their collegiate colours.

Mount St. Vincent University Mystics of Halifax lead the pack with an unblemished 3-0 record and will actually watch from the sidelines this weekend with a rare break in the schedule.

The Mystics boast Celine Sterckel of the MWBA’s Moncton’s Mystics.

Holland College Hurricanes of Charlottetown, Sackville’s Mount Allison University Mounties and Fredericton’s St. Thomas University Tommies are deadlocked for second spot with 2-1 marks.

University of New Brunswick at Saint John Seawolves sit 1-2 while University of King’s College Blue Devils of Halifax and Moncton’s Crandall University Chargers are 0-2 and 0-3, respectively.

Something will give Saturday when King’s College and Crandall battle in Moncton at 3 p.m. St. Thomas hits the road to tangle with the Mounties at 5 p.m. and Holland College visits Saint John for a 6 p.m. date.

The lone tilt Sunday offers Mount Allison at UKC.

Crandall has Tristan DesRoches of the MWBA’s Miramichi Her-Icanes.

Kate Fillmore, Sadie Bowen and Addison Albert of Mount Allison are also Mystics during the spring season. Grace Tilley, just back from injury and Mounties’ teammates Danielle Alexander and Emma Roberts play with the Port City Fog of Saint John. UNBSJ’s Avery Alward is also a member of the Fog.

Mount Allison’s Ava Godfrey plays with the Her-Icanes.

Holland College has Nykeva Wilson-Brown of the Lake City 56ers from Dartmouth/Cole Harbour/Preston and Nevaeh O’Connell is with the Halifax Hornets.
