Add three more players to the roster of the Truro Tidal Queens.

The Maritime Women’s Basketball Association’s newest team certainly is the most aggressive early in the new year when it comes to signing players.

Kendra Smith, Nadia Barrington and Quendara Provo are the latest signings for head coach, Lonnie States and the Tidal Queens.

Truro will play in the MWBA’s Nova Scotia Division with Halifax Hornets, Halifax Thunder and Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour/Preston.

Smith spent three seasons playing with the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women in Atlantic University Sport play.

The six-foot-two pivot appeared in 40 games with the X-Women. She averaged 3.3 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per outing in the AUS.

Barrington is playing with Charlottetown’s Holland College Hurricanes in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association.

She averages just under 30 minutes per game for the Hurricanes and is scoring at an 8.7 points per game outing.

Barrington is a hometown signing, a former player with Truro’s Cobequid Educational Centre Cougars.

Provo spent two seasons as manager and video coordinator with St. FX. She is coaching the Cole Harbour District High Cavaliers’ varsity girls this season.
