There are two games left in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association and there are playoff positioning ramifications on the line.

Particularly with the Mount Allison University Mounties of Sackville.

The Mounties will be in action twice at home this weekend.

Entering the fray, the St. Thomas University Tommies of Fredericton have run away and hid from the pack, boasting a first place 17-1 record. Mount St. Vincent University Mystics of Halifax are second at 13-4 and then it gets interesting.

Mount Allison is third with a 10-6 mark and a winning percentage of .625 which puts them ahead of Charlottetown’s Holland College Hurricanes and their 11-7 mark and .611 win percentage.

University of New Brunswick at Saint John Seawolves are fifth with a 6-12 mark and Crandall University Chargers of Moncton have the sixth and final post-season secured with a 3-15 record. University of King’s College Blue Devils of Halifax will miss the post-season, after a 1-16 record entering the weekend.

The ACAA will decide its championship at Mount St. Vincent from March 6 to 8.

On Saturday, Mount Allison welcomes the Mystics to Sackville for a 2 p.m., outing. The Mounties have won six in a row and Mount St. Vincent has dropped two straight outings, losing two games at home last weekend to St. Thomas.

The regular season concludes Sunday in Sackville when the Mounties host UKC at 1 p.m.

Meanwhile, there are certainly a crew of familiar names from the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association making their mark within the ACAA ranks.

Ainsley Green of the Seawolves is leading the ACAA in points per game at a 14.6 clip. She played in the MWBA last season with Saint John’s Port City Fog where she averaged 5.0 points an outing.

Danielle Alexander of the Mounties is fifth with 13.5 points per game. She was Green’s teammate with the Fog last spring, averaging 3.4 points per game.

Green leads the circuit in rebounds with 11.2 boards and Alexander is a titch behind with 10.9.

Emma Roberts of Mount Allison leads in three-point percentage. She played with Port City last season and also leads the ACAA in assists with 78.

Grace Tilley, who was an assistant coach with the Fog and has returned to the Mounties after a series of injuries, is second in three-point percentage at 35.1.

Celine Sterckel of Mount St. Vincent, who is an MWBA veteran with the Moncton Mystics, is second in free throw percentage at an 81.8 per cent clip.

Nadia Barrington of Holland College, a recent signing of the MWBA expansion Truro Tidal Queens, leads the league in blocked shots with 28. Green is fourth with 15.
