Courtney Thompson is having a memorable Maritime Women’s Basketball Association season.
She continued her solid campaign Saturday afternoon with a game high 21 points and hometown Port City Fog made things very interesting in the MWBA with a 66-56 win over Halifax Hornets.
Port City improved to 4-4 and climbed into a two-way third place tie with idle Fredericton Freeze as top New Brunswick-based teams. Halifax slipped to 0-8.
Thompson’s 21 points were helped by 11 from Mackenzee Ryan and eight from Danielle Alexander in a balanced attack.
Hannah Brown’s 11 sparked the Hornets. Alisha McNeil counted nine and Kate Gallant eight.
