Halifax Thunder has not lost a Maritime Women’s Basketball Association game of any type in two seasons.
The remarkable march continued Sunday in front of 786 fans at Dalhousie University.
Thunder started fast and kept the pedal to the floor, earning a 90-57 victory over Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour/Preston.
Halifax earned the Pro*Line Stadium Legacy Cup championship with the win.
Karla Yepez paved the way for the champions with a 19-point effort. Kiera Rigby had 16 and tournament MVP Alaina McMillan scored 13. Grace Lancaster sunk a dozen and Justine Colley-Leger had 10 in the balanced attack.
Elizabeth Iseyemi scored 14 to pace Lake City. Emma Cameron scored 12.
Halifax earned its berth in the final with a semifinal victory over Port City Fog of Saint John while the 56ers used a one point, buzzer beater to down the Fredericton Freeze.
Freeze tamed Port City, 70-55 to earn third place.
