The second half of the Germany-2.Bundsliga is ready to begin this weekend.
Elizabeth Iseyemi is also ready for the stretch drive.
The Maritime Women’s Basketball Association stalwart from the Dartmouth/Cole Harbour Lake City 56ers is back in Germany following the holiday break to prepare for action Jan. 12 with her BasCats USC Heidleberg squad.
Heidleberg faces Wasserburg in its next outing.
Iseyemi’s team sits 8-3, good enough for fourth spot in the league’s South Division. Its Wasserburg foes are 9-2 entering weekend play.
The former Acadia University Axewomen has certainly adjusted to life at the professional level. Iseyemi is averaging 27.7 minutes per game. She scores 16.9 points per game, averages 3.1 assists and 7.4 rebounds.
Her league has 24 teams, split into 12 in the South and North divisions.
Alaina McMillan of the MWBA’s Halifax Thunder continues her second half in the French Nationale Feminine 3 circuit with Arras Pays D’Artois Basket in France.

Iseyemi and McMillan are two players from the MWBA who have played at the professional level across the pond.
Karissa Kajorinne of the Thunder played in Portugal for two seasons, Thunder’s Tiffany Reynolds spent a season in Nicaragua and Sophie Widmeyer of the Halifax Hornets played in Ireland.
