MWBA - Maritime Womens Basketball Association

Scoring Leaders in Review

A Maritime Women’s Basketball Association first-year player took home the league’s scoring title and MVP honours a year ago.

Who is getting ready for a banner 2025 MWBA season?

We’ll know in June.

Lauren Rainford of the Miramichi Hericanes was last year’s leading scorer and MVP, averaging 23.5 points per game, quickly becoming a fan favourite in the city.

Rainford returns this season.

Courtney Donaldson of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour’s Lake City 56ers was second in scoring at 19.4 points per game. Elizabeth Iseyemi, who signed a professional contract in Germany where she spent 2024-25, was third at 19.3 points per game. Leo Elbert of Moncton Mystics was fourth at 18.7 and Alaina McMillan of Halifax Thunder was fifth with 15.8 points an outing.

Courtney Thompson of Saint John’s Port City Fog was sixth at 15.4 per game and Allie McCarthy of the Fredericton Freeze stood seventh at 14.1.

Allie Berry of Moncton and Justine Colley-Leger of the Thunder tied for eighth at 13.6.

Rachel Farwell of Port City rounded out the Top 10 at 13.4 points per game.
