MWBA - Maritime Womens Basketball Association

TRL Solutions Join Freeze

The Fredericton Freeze has a new name.

No, don’t worry, the popular Maritime Women’s Basketball Association’s Freeze isn’t changing its nickname in time for the 2025 season.

Instead, the Freeze has an official partnership with a dynamic local company.

Meet the Fredericton TRL Solutions Freeze.

TRL Solutions is a digital marketing agency that has been working with the Freeze since its inception as a partner and designer of Fredericton’s website.

‘We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Freeze and the MWBA and it seemed to be a natural step to become involved in a higher partnership by providing naming rights,’ said TRL Solutions’ co-owner Jody Peterson, who started the business with Nick McCarthy. ‘Our company is active in our busy community and this is a new step to continue building local sporting teams.’

TRL Solutions offers a wide variety of digital marketing services from website design and development to Search Engine Optimization (SEO), digital advertising, social media management, graphic and logo design and email marketing.

The company is located at 870 Hanwell Rd., in Fredericton.

‘Jody and TRL Solutions have been with the Freeze and the MWBA since Day 1 and that’s an amazing commitment,’ said Freeze general manager, Brad Janes. ‘Our organization is part of  a busy sporting community in Fredericton, so it’s been a treat to have a company such as TRL be on our side and support our team, our league and women in sport.’

The Freeze is one of seven MWBA teams including four in New Brunswick.

Fredericton joins Moncton Mystics, Miramichi Hericanes and Port City Fog of Saint John. Nova Scotia teams are Halifax Hornets, Halifax Thunder and Lake City 56ers of Dartmouth/Cole Harbour.

Fredericton opens the season Sunday, May 4, hosting Port City,

Game time is 1 p.m. at Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium on the campus of the University of New Brunswick.

‘We have seen the positive impact the Freeze has had with youth in our community,’ said Peterson. ‘The team brings a family-friendly vibe every game out and the level of play is remarkable. We’re only too happy to have our business a part of the Freeze and the MWBA.’
