MWBA - Maritime Womens Basketball Association

Lake City/Edge Leaders

The Lake City 56ers have had an interesting role in the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association.

Born the Windsor Edge in 2022, the club played two seasons in the Nova Scotia hamlet before moving operations to Dartmouth/Cole Harbour/Preston in 2024.

The move has been a good one, considering the Lake City has been to two straight MWBA PRO•LINE Legacy Cup finals after leaving Windsor.

True, the 56ers have yet to hoist the cup, but the organization is certainly strong and stable as it prepares for Year V in 2026.

Looking back on the Lake City/Windsor entity, there has been considerable talent wear the uniforms including the franchise’s all-time leading point-getter, Courtney Donaldson.

Donaldson has amassed 293 career points in Lake City colours. She has 414 overall points including one season with the Halifax Hornets. She has played in 27 games with the 56ers’ organization.

Karissa Kajorinne, a former all-time MWBA leading scorer, is second in 56er offensive lore with 246 points. Elizabeth Iseyemi is third with 174.

Kajorinne has spent a number of seasons playing professionally in Portugal. Iseyemi completed her first professional season in Germany earlier in the spring.

Emily MacNeil sits fourth overall with 142 points and Lauren Armstrong’s 133 has her fifth.

Reigning MWBA MVP MacKenzie Smith, who competed for Canada this month at the under-23 FIBA 3X3 competition, is sixth with 129 points in just one season.

Tiffany Reynolds, who is playing professionally overseas, is seventh with 117 points and Lillian Fuller eighth with 115. Isa MacKay is ninth in scoring with 94 points and Leah Martin takes 10th spot with 79.
