The Fredericton Freeze had five players reach double figures and earned a 90-62 win over Miramichi HerIcanes in front of its home fans Sunday.

It was the home debut for Fredericton which evened its record at 1-1 and stopped a four-game losing skid against Miramichi which included the season opener earlier this month.

Maheva Ngassam erupted for a game-high 18 points to spark Fredericton in front of well over 225 fans at the Lady Beaverbrook Gymnasium. Paige LeBlanc dropped 16 while Crandall University Chargers’ commit Neleh McAllon dropped 15, all from beyond the arc. Eva Tumwine meshed 13 and Krsiten Taylor scored a dozen.

Ava Sprague paced Miramichi with 16 points. Ainsley Green and Lexi MacInnis both had a dozen.

The HerIcanes fell to 1-3.

– Rookie Neleh McAloon hammered home five triples Sunday.
