The Truro Tidal Queens held their first-ever Maritime Women’s Basketball Association game Sunday.

Plenty of fans, solid game presentation, but the end result was not what Truro was hoping for, dropping an 85-43 decision to the Halifax Hornets.

Hornets improved to 2-1 with the win. Expansion Truro slipped to 0-3.

Lucina Beaumont powered Halifax and all scorers with a 20-point outing. Sasha Dabb scored 14 while Katelyn Power and Lily Francois both potted 10.

In an odd twist, five Truro scorers meshed five points apiece including Korenda Colley, Tyler Malloy, Courtney Cain-Nordin, Kendra MacKinnoin and Isabella MacKay.
