Consider it a success.

The Mystics trailed 35-33 at halftime, but came out in the second half and earned their way to an entertaining 75-70 victory over the Halifax Hornets in the first-ever MWBA game at Crandall University.

Moncton is now 1-1. Halifax fell to 0-3.

Five players struck for double figures for Moncton. Leonie Elbert, who missed the Mystics’ season opener with an injury, struck for 14 points to lead the hosts. Veteran Kelly Vass had 13, Allie Berry a dozen and Jenna Jones and Kelsey McLaughlin hit for 10 each.

Amanda Pearcey paced all scorers with 18 for Halifax. Aliyah Fraser scored a dozen.
