Four players from the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association will attend USPORTS nationals at the University of British Columbia later this month.
Katelyn Power and Aliyah Fraser of the three-time Atlantic University Sport champion Saint Mary’s University Huskies of Halifax will be at UBC along with Allie McCarthy and Bailey Russell of the University of Ottawa Gee Gees.
Power and Fraser were MWBA teammates with the Halifax Hornets last season. McCarthy and Russell shared Fredericton Freeze colours.
Saint Mary’s also has Lucina Beaumont and Clara Gascoine in its lineup. Both played in the MWBA during the league’s inaugural 2022 season.
