One night after a tough loss at home, the Port City Fog left Saint John in pursuit of getting back into the win column.

Mission accomplished.

The visiting Fog erupted offensively and beat the hometown Miramichi HerIcanes, 87-60.

It was the second time in six days Port City defeated Miramichi.

Ella MacDonald, who had 25 against Miramichi the first meeting, meshed 15 to lead the offence for the Fog. Neve Pearson and Celine Sterckel both had 13 and Julia Williams scored 11. Cara Palk had 10 points. MacDonald added six assists.

Lexi MacInnis’ 15 paced Miramichi. Ava Sprague hit for 13 while Maika LeBlanc and Kassidy Hamilton had eight apiece.

The Fog moved to 2-1 with the victory. Miramichi fell to 1-2.

Miramichi gets a chance to get back to .500 when it faces the Freeze in Fredericton on Sunday.

The HerIcanes defeated Fredericton last week in Miramichi as the Freeze (0-1) look to climb into the win column.
