Halifax Thunder completed a difficult task.
Finishing the regular season undefeated.
Halifax did exactly that, posting a perfect 10-0 Maritime Women’s Basketball Association record, following a 74-64 win over host Windsor Edge on Thursday.
The Edge is now 4-5 and hosts Halifax Hornets on Saturday to win up the regular season for both teams.
Haley McDonald rifled a game-high 27 points to spark Halifax. McDonald had 16 of them in the first half. She was supported with 11 points from Vanessa Pickard and 10 from Elizabeth Beals-Iseyemi.
Karissa Kajorinne drained 20 for the Edge. Jessica Miller had 15 and Anna von Maltzahn popped 10.
The Thunder has earned a bye into the June 24 to 26 Legacy Cup semifinals and will play the lowest remaining seed from the quarter-final survivors.
Championship weekend will be played at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.
