Let’s face it, there’s never been a problem to find gym for some runs during the off-season.
Until you-know-what hit.
With so many changes becoming routine in our daily lives due to COVID-19, finding gym time for open runs is not as easy as it usually is with Nova Scotia and New Brunswick facing different hurdles to continue finding recreational pursuits.
Some players anticipating playing in the Maritime Women’s Basketball Association have had some runs this spring in Halifax, before the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and in Moncton and Fredericton at various levels.
The Fredericton Freeze has squeezed in two open gym sessions, attracting 38 players over the course of two nights for scrimmage action.
We’re all hoping border restrictions are lifted soon, but we also support the safety of our citizens and want to ensure proper protocol is being followed.
We looking forward to bringing you MWBA progress reports for on court action over the next few months.
